Volunteering Opportunities at the Hub
At the Hub, we’re proud to offer a range of volunteering roles that help us support our community every day. Below are some of the teams currently looking for extra help. Our volunteers work closely together, and new members are always warmly welcomed. If you feel any of these roles might suit you, please get in touch—we’d love to hear from you!
Driver / Collections Team
Each evening, our drivers collect surplus food from supermarkets across the town and bring it to our store. Once it arrives, a team of volunteers sorts the donations so they can be delivered the following day to one of our three Community Fridges.
- Time: Evening work
- Requirements: Access to a car and availability during evening hours
- Purpose: Helping reduce food waste while supporting local families and individuals
If you enjoy being out and about, this role could be a great fit.
Reception Team
We are looking for friendly volunteers to support our Reception at the Hub. This is a welcoming, customer-facing role where you’ll meet and greet visitors, answer phone calls, and help book customers into our rooms for hire.
- Time: Flexible between 8am and 10pm
- Skills: Good communication, warm and approachable manner
- Purpose: Ensuring visitors feel supported and the Hub runs smoothly
If you enjoy meeting new people and being at the heart of the Hub’s activity, this is a perfect opportunity.
Community Fridge Team
Our Community Fridges—located in Letham Hub, Muirton, and Moncrieffe—rely on volunteers to sort stock, organise displays, and serve customers who use the shop.
- Locations: Letham Hub, Muirton, Moncrieffe
- Time: Varies depending on the fridge and your availability
- Purpose: Supporting food access and building a welcoming community environment
If you’re organised, friendly, and enjoy helping others, this role could be ideal for you.
