Housekeeping volunteers play a very meaningful role in creating the warm, calm, and comforting environment that families need when they stay with us
Our hospice is designed to feel like a true home from home—a place where parents and carers can rest, recharge, and feel supported while their child is being cared for.
This role focuses specifically on the family bedrooms, which are a vital sanctuary for those staying with us. By helping to keep these spaces fresh, tidy, and welcoming, you’ll be providing more than just a clean room—you’ll be offering families a sense of comfort, dignity, and relief during what can often be emotionally challenging times.
Although this isn’t a clinical role, the impact is just as important.

About Children's Hospices Across Scotland
We’re Children’s Hospices Across Scotland. But most people know us as CHAS. For thirty years we’ve been offering a full family support service for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions. This includes palliative care, family respite and support – through our hospices, homecare services and hospital presence.
