Summary

Weekly health walks welcome adults of all ages and physical abilities to benefit from low-impact exercise and social interaction.

Detailed description

Led by qualified Walk Leaders, adults of all ages and physical abilities are invited to join us for a 60-minute walk in our supportive and welcoming environment. Teas & coffees are provided after the walk too, giving walkers the opportunity to socialise.

Routes have been risk assessed leaving from McDiarmid Park and other locations in the town centre. Walk Leaders are required to familiarise themselves with a route and our group members before leading the walking group - understanding the needs and limitations of our members and setting the pace accordingly. Walk Leaders are also encouraged to identify and risk assess new walks.

Our health walks have a wonderful impact: "I enjoy our walks, meeting new people and making new friends, and having tea & coffee afterwards is good. It's something to look forward to each week."

Paths For All 'Walk Leader' training will be provided. First Aid training required.

Volunteers will liaise with other walk leaders and the wellbeing project coordinator.
