Celebrate 5 years of Rewilding Denmarkfield at this exciting summer event full of fun activities!

Come and join us at Rewilding Denmarkfield for our Open Day 2026! It promises to be a super exciting day filled with nature, community, and fun!

From chariot racing to a chance to meet the Denmarkfield Bee and a rewilding site tour...there will be so many things to look at, learn about, and get stuck into.

It will run from 11am-3pm and you can drop in at any time, but please take a note of the event schedule below.

This year we're going to be celebrating bumblebees! These fuzzy pollinators have become a symbol of the incredible work in creating space for nature at Denmarkfield.

Throughout the day we will have bee themed activities including a bumblebee treasure hunt to learn about the main 8 species of bumblebees found in Scotland, as well as a pollinator chariot course with Glenrobin Chariots! From 1pm there will be wildflower planting to further improve the site for our beloved pollinators, and from 1.30pm there will also be a chance to meet the Denmarkfield Bee, and to help us create a bumblebee mural on our Bumblebee Bothy!

Additionally we will take a look at the year gone by and the rewilding project so far, hearing some updates and some thank yous, and at 2pm there will be a guided tour along the river to see the newly developed South Field. For lunch, there will be vegan and vegetarian food and home baking.

Whether you are already involved in the project or have never been before, please do come along and be part of this great celebration.

Book a free ticket or contact Izzy to say you're coming and ask any questions.

Please do share details of the event with others or bring a friend!

Getting there

We have cycle parking onsite, and are on the cycle path from Perth. We are also a 15 min walk from the nearest bus stop. For those this is suitable for we would encourage travel to the event via public/active travel! There is no parking provision down at Denmarkfield Allotments and as we are on a core path well-used for walking etc we will endeavour to keep traffic low, so if you are coming by car, we suggest parking either at the Luncarty Memorial Hall (15 min walk) or at the Destiny Bridge Park & Choose site (15-20 min walk). Please park considerately, thinking of local residents.

About Rewilding Denmarkfield

Rewilding Denmarkfield is a 91-acre site on ex-arable farmland, managed to support biodiversity and nature restoration. We also work with local people and groups to provide opportunities for outdoor learning and connection, conservation volunteering, and organic growing at our on-site allotments. We know how worrying the issues around climate and nature can feel. On the other side of it, we know how calming and worthwhile it can feel to be a part of a community group working to learn about, protect, and enhance nature. Our relaxed monthly Friends of Denmarkfield volunteer sessions offer this opportunity - from orchard care to tree planting to seed collection - as do our bird and pollinator surveys which happen during the week. Please do get in touch if you have any questions about volunteering at Denmarkfield!
