Could You Offer a Dog a Temporary Safe Haven?
Give a Dog the Chance to Find Their Forever Home
Not every dog trained by Guide Dogs goes on to become a guide dog. Some dogs follow a different path and need a little extra time, patience and support before moving on to their forever home.
That's where our Respite Fosterers play a vital role.
We're looking for caring volunteers to provide a temporary, loving home for dogs supported by our Career Change and Rehoming Team. These dogs may benefit from a calm environment, a steady routine and someone who can help them build confidence while they prepare for the next chapter of their lives.
As a respite fosterer, you'll provide:
- A safe and welcoming home
- Care, companionship and reassurance
- Gentle support as a dog settles into family life
- A positive environment where they can relax, learn and thrive
You'll receive full training, guidance and ongoing support throughout your fostering journey.
By opening your home, you'll be giving a dog the chance to grow in confidence and take an important step towards finding the loving forever home they deserve.
