Detailed description

Be the Voice of Change: Become a CHAS Volunteer Speaker

Are you confident, passionate, and ready to inspire others?

Join CHAS as a Volunteer Speaker and help us build a movement around the exciting £17 million transformation of Rachel House in Kinross - Scotland’s first children’s hospice.

This is a once-in-a-generation moment. With new hydrotherapy pools, fully accessible adventure gardens, and better-equipped bedrooms on the horizon, we’re reimagining what compassionate care looks like for children and families. And we need your voice to help make it happen.

What Will You Do?

You’ll deliver engaging talks to schools, local businesses, community groups, and more—sharing the story of CHAS, the impact of our work, and the incredible future we’re building together. You’ll inspire people to get involved, donate, and spread the word. Your volunteer manager will let you know which talks are available and when and you can choose which ones suit you.

Why Volunteer as a Speaker?

  • Be part of something big: Help launch a movement around the Rachel House revamp and rally support across Scotland.
  • Flexible commitment: Just four talks a year can make a huge impact—and you choose when and where.
  • Travel expenses paid: We’ll cover your costs, so you’re never out of pocket.
  • Grow your skills: Public speaking, storytelling, networking—this role is a brilliant way to build confidence and experience. Plus, access free learning through our partnership with the Skills Network.
  • Make real change happen: Your words will help raise vital funds and awareness, directly supporting children with life-shortening conditions and their families.

Who Can Apply?

Anyone aged 18+ who enjoys speaking to groups and wants to make a difference. Whether you’re a student, a young professional, or someone looking to give back in a meaningful way, we’ll support you every step of the way.

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and can make adjustments to help you get involved.

Your voice can help shape the future of children’s hospice care in Scotland. Join CHAS today and be part of something extraordinary.

About Children's Hospices Across Scotland

We’re Children’s Hospices Across Scotland. But most people know us as CHAS. For thirty years we’ve been offering a full family support service for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions. This includes palliative care, family respite and support – through our hospices, homecare services and hospital presence.
